MEET SARAH - THE CREATIVE BEHIND NOA
Artist. Detail-lover. Slow Creative.
Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m the artist and designer behind Noa. I’ve always been drawn to slow creativity, small details, and the quiet magic in everyday life, even if real life doesn’t always feel that way. Noa grew from that pull, evolving into a space for whimsical, story-led work that can live across products, spaces, and the things we use each day.
The name Noa means movement. Not hurried or forceful, but slow, considered movement, where ideas are allowed to unfold over time. It reflects the way I approach my work, creating from a place of calm rather than urgency, and letting each piece evolve naturally, even within the noise of everyday life.
My creative journey began with an upbringing immersed in making, followed by a Fine Arts degree in Fashion during a time when the industry was shifting from hand-drawn process to digital tools. I found myself drawn to the space between the two, translating hand-drawn illustration into clean, intentional design that can move across mediums, scales, and uses.
Today, surface pattern sits at the heart of my work, extending beyond fashion into homewares, giftware, wallpaper, and more. Alongside this, I create original artworks and illustrations, often guided by whimsy and a desire to add small glimmers to the everyday.
I’m based in Toowoomba, a regional city tucked between the farm I grew up on and the coastal life I once knew. My days are a mix of drawing and designing, school runs and small hands, noise and laundry, and the quiet that finally arrives when the house stills.
